Find Yourself at the Sanctuary!

Through our dance program, students develop confidence and become more outgoing. The Sanctuary is a place where your child can fit in and feel accepted.
DANCING IS NOT ALL ABOUT COMPETING. WHILE PERFORMANCE IS A VALUABLE PIECE ENABLING THE STUDENTS TO SHOWCASE THEIR LEARNING, DANCING SHOULD BE PARTICIPATED IN FOR THE ENJOYMENT AND THE BENEFITS IT PROVIDES THE STUDENT MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY, AND EMOTIONALLY.

Why Come to the Sanctuary

At Sanctuary Dance Academy instruction is provided through researched-based strategies, structures, and building skills in a dynamic and fun environment.  Our director of dance, who has 30+ years of dance teaching experience, as well as 24 years as a full-time elementary school teacher and principal in the public school system, has developed the curriculum for our program and teaches many of the classes. The teaching staff and assistants have had professional development in the structure, systems, appropriate classroom management, and dance technique.

WHAT WE OFFER?

Sanctuary Dance Academy offers three types of dance, divided into different levels. These levels generally coincide with age ranges, but also with the abilities and skills. We want our students to be placed appropriately so they can grow the most as a dancer. Placements are done by our studio director.

WILL YOUR CHILD BE A GOOD FIT FOR OUR DANCE PROGRAM?

We’re looking for are students who:

  • Come willing to learn

  • Want to learn

  • Put forth effort

  • Follow directions

  • Love to dance

While we want all of our students to be dedicated, participate fully, and give 100% effort in every class, we understand that many students have struggled with these behaviors in the past.

If your child ...

  • Has lacked focus, or becomes distracted

  • Has had difficulty fitting in

  • Might be considered socially shy or awkward

  • Has had trouble communicating or expressing themselves

  • Needs additional supports or strategies to be successful

Then your child would likely also be a good fit for our dance program.
